2024 Second Minimum Wage Determined

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission has set the second minimum wage for 2024 by a majority vote. The new minimum wage will be applied as of May 1, 2024, at a net amount of 29,640 TL and a gross amount of 34,070 TL, with the approval of the state and worker representatives.

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission met for the third time today to determine the second minimum wage for 2024. After a break, the meeting began around 18:00 and concluded around 20:30. While the new minimum wage was determined with the votes of the state and worker representatives, the employer representatives voted negatively.

After the meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, thanked the representatives of workers and employers for their contributions.

Gardiyanoğlu stated that there wasn’t much difference between the proposals from the state, employer, and worker sides, saying, "It would have been preferable if it had been approved unanimously."

He announced that the new minimum wage passed with the majority vote from the state and worker representatives, wishing that the new minimum wage, which will be effective from May 1, 2024, will be beneficial for everyone. Minister Gardiyanoğlu also revealed the figures.

Accordingly, the new minimum wage will be applied as follows: gross 34,070 TL, net 29,640 TL, weekly 7,862.30 TL, daily 1,572.46 TL, and hourly 196.55 TL.
